Gold prices in Chennai have taken a significant hit, falling by Rs 800 per sovereign on Saturday, October 3. The current price stands at Rs 1,09,400 per sovereign and Rs 13,675 per gram.

This decrease marks the lowest gold rate this year, with the metal having seen an increase of Rs 22,680 per sovereign compared to last year's prices on the same date.

The silver market remains unchanged, holding steady at Rs 245 per gram (Rs 2,45,000 per kg).
