A Haryana-based Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) has successfully exported a consignment of frozen food products to Canada. The shipment, valued at CAD 35,140, comprises 2,295 boxes of frozen food products including green peas, mixed vegetables, peas and carrots, sweet corn, and samosas.

The export was facilitated by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), which supported the exporting unit under its Financial Assistance Scheme. APEDA Chairman Abhishek Dev congratulated the exporter and stakeholders, saying that direct exports by FPOs would significantly enhance value realisation for producers.

The shipment is part of efforts to integrate farmer groups into international food supply chains and expand export opportunities for Indian processed food products. It also highlights the potential for FPO-led enterprises to move beyond exporting raw agricultural produce towards higher-value processed products.
