Corn Falls as Ethanol Production Remains Steady

Corn futures are trading lower on Wednesday, down six cents across the front months at midday. The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price is also down six cents to $4.84 1/2.

The weekly EIA report showed ethanol production steady with the week prior at 1.099 million barrels per day, but still 4.17% above the same week last year. Stocks saw a slight increase of 33,000 barrels to 25.22 million barrels, which is 11.58% above the same week last year.

In related news, Stats Canada released their initial production data, with corn output in Canada at 16.55 MMT, an 11.3% increase from last year. Traders are looking ahead to Thursday's Export Sales data, which is expected to show a total of 0.7 to 2 MMT in 2026/27 corn sales.
