Dar Directs Wheat Import Body to Meet Provincial Needs
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar directed the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) to ensure that provinces receive their required quantities of wheat, according to a meeting of the National Steering Committee on wheat import.
The committee met to review the process of wheat importation aimed at stabilizing prices. Dar also instructed the Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation (PASSCO) to supply wheat from its stocks to the provinces as per agreed-upon quantities.
The meeting was attended by various officials, including Ministers for National Food Security and Economic Affairs, the Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, Secretaries of National Food Security and Commerce, and senior officials from several departments.
