Energocom Seeks Moldova Regulator's Approval for Gas Price Hike
Energocom, Moldova's state-owned gas supplier, has requested that the National Energy Regulatory Agency (NERA) increase regulated natural gas prices due to rising costs on the European market. The company cites a 42.15% increase in TTF benchmark prices since its last price adjustment request on July 15, 2026.
The increase is attributed to heightened geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, reduced liquefied natural gas supplies, low European stock levels, and competition with Asian markets for available volumes.
Energocom forecasts that the TTF index will reach approximately 76.6 euros/MWh in October 2026 and remain at a comparable level in November and December, resulting in significantly higher average costs than currently included in regulated prices.
The proposed prices have been calculated according to approved methodology and reflect actual and projected costs of the regulated service. The draft regulated prices, excluding VAT, are as follows: 18,744 lei/1,000 m³ at the entry point to the main pipeline; 19,331 lei/1,000 m³ at the outlet of the main pipeline; 19,727 lei/1,000 m³ at the outlet of high-pressure networks; 20,796 lei/1,000 m³ at the outlet from medium-pressure networks; and 24,305 lei/1,000 m³ at the outlet from low-pressure networks.
