Eni Launches 30% Power and Gas Discount for Italian Households

Italian energy company Eni is launching a new initiative to help households struggling with high energy costs. The plan, dubbed 'Eni for Italy', offers a 30% discount on electricity and natural gas rates sold through its Plenitude retail business.

The discount will be available from October 1 to customers who sign up by October 24. Prices under the discounted contract will be fixed for two years, with Eni estimating that customers could save around €200 annually on average.

This move comes as European utilities and energy retailers navigate volatile procurement costs and pressure from consumers and governments to limit the impact of wholesale market swings on household bills.
