Fluor Chosen for LNG Canada Expansion
Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) has been selected to lead the engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning of Phase 2 at LNG Canada's liquified natural gas export facility in Kitimat, British Columbia.
The joint venture between Fluor and JGC Corporation received a Notice to Proceed after LNG Canada made its final investment decision. The contract is valued at over $7.5 billion, with Fluor recognizing its share of the revenue in the third quarter of 2026.
Phase 2 will involve building an additional LNG storage tank and two new liquefaction units, known as trains. This expansion will double the facility's production capacity to approximately 28 million tonnes per annum.
'LNG Canada Phase 1 was a landmark achievement for Fluor,' said Jim Breuer, Chief Executive Officer of Fluor. 'The decision to proceed with Phase 2 reflects confidence in Canada's ability to responsibly develop its natural gas resources and connect them with global markets.'
