Gold and Silver Prices Climb as Dollar Index Hits New High
Thursday saw international gold and silver prices rise, closing higher than they had been in previous sessions.
The New York Mercantile Exchange reported that gold futures for December delivery climbed 0.37 percent to settle at $4,202.30 per ounce, while silver futures for the same month gained 1.01 percent to close at $61.175 per ounce.
Meanwhile, the U.S. dollar strengthened in late trading, with the dollar index rising by 0.64 percent to 102.102 against six major peers.
