Gold Prices Soar on Weakening Dollar, Eased Oil
Gold prices surged by over 1% on Wednesday as the dollar weakened and oil prices eased. Spot gold rose to $4,346.30 per ounce, its highest level in a month, while U.S. gold futures for December delivery climbed 1.3% to $4,387.60.
Nikos Tzabouras, senior market analyst at Tradu.com, attributed the increase to 'easing dollar strength, a cooldown in oil prices and a pullback in U.S. bond yields.'
However, despite this short-term boost, gold's near-term bias remains bearish due to higher interest rates, which increase the opportunity cost of holding non-yielding bullion.
