Grain Market Mixed as Soybeans Bounce Back from Sharp Losses
The grain market experienced a mixed session on Tuesday, with soybeans recovering part of Monday's sharp losses while corn and wheat struggled to find direction.
Corn futures ended about 1-2 cents lower, as traders balanced ongoing harvest pressure against positioning ahead of the USDA's quarterly Grain Stocks report. The market spent much of the session near unchanged, weighing these competing factors.
Soybeans, however, were the strongest part of the complex, finishing roughly 9-10 cents higher after Monday's 30-cent-plus break. Traders viewed this selloff as overdone and continued to watch China for signs of additional U.S. soybean purchases, keeping trade headlines firmly in focus.
The market remains cautious about the ongoing trade tensions between the United States and China, particularly regarding soybeans, which remain excluded from the latest round of Chinese tariff reductions.
