Grains Futures Hold Near Six-Week Lows Amid Dollar Strength
Grains futures have stabilized near six-week lows due to a strong US dollar. The market remains cautious ahead of key crop production reports from the USDA, which will provide insights into this autumn's harvest yields. On Thursday, StoneX reduced its estimate for the average US corn yield in 2026 and lowered its corn production forecast.
The most traded CBOT corn contract has dipped by 1.05% to $4.97 a bushel, maintaining levels near Thursday's six-week low of $4.95. Similarly, CBOT soybeans have decreased by 0.55% to $12.77 a bushel after touching a five-week low at $12.73-1/4.
The ongoing US harvest is expected to produce large volumes of corn and soybeans, putting pressure on prices. Traders are closely monitoring the size of this autumn's harvest ahead of the USDA's next crop production report and monthly World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates report next week.
