Grains Market Takes Backsteps Amid Profit-Taking, Livestock Complex Rises
The grains and livestock futures markets experienced a mixed performance on September 22nd. December corn fell by 5.75 cents per bushel, while November soybeans dropped by the same amount. The wheat market also declined, with December Kansas City wheat down by 9.25 cents, December Chicago wheat down by 7.75 cents, and December MIAX wheat down by 6 cents.
On the other hand, the livestock complex showed a stronger start, with December live cattle up by $0.50 at $222.5, October feeder cattle up by $1.05 at $331.3, and December lean hogs up by $0.75 at $70.55.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 157.77 points, while the U.S. Dollar Index increased by 0.040. However, November crude oil declined by $1.80 per barrel, and December gold fell by $16.20 per ounce.
