Greece Extends Saudi Air Defense Deployment Amid Regional Tension
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has agreed to extend the presence of Greece's air defense missile battery in Saudi Arabia for at least another month.
The decision was made during a session of the Government Council on National Security, which also discussed the increased tension in the region due to Houthi attacks that have pushed up global oil prices.
The Greek Patriot missile battery has already successfully fired twelve missiles at targets including ballistic missiles and Iranian drones launched by the Houthis in Yemen.
The Government Council on National Security has decided to review and renew the presence of the battery on a monthly basis, with Mitsotakis due to visit Riyadh at the end of this month.
