Hanwha Ocean Secures Record LNG Carrier Orders Amid Growing Market Demand

Hanwha Ocean has secured new orders for two liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers worth about 680 billion won from a shipowner in Africa. This order brings the company's cumulative orders this month to approximately 2.8918 trillion won.

The order is part of a growing trend for Hanwha Ocean, which has secured orders for 41 ships so far this year, valued at around $7.71 billion. This represents a 22% increase from the same period last year, when cumulative orders totaled approximately $6.32 billion.

Earlier in September, Hanwha Ocean won an order for six 13,650-TEU LNG dual-fuel container ships from Yang Ming Marine Transport of Taiwan for 1.5527 trillion won. The company also secured an order for three very large gas carriers (VLGCs) from a shipowner in Oceania worth about 477.8 billion won.
