Houthis Claim Responsibility for Attacks on Saudi Oil Facilities
Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for attacks on Saudi oil facilities in Riyadh and Khurais, saying they used ballistic missiles and drones to target Aramco facilities. The strikes, which were described as 'precise and direct', led to fires breaking out at the sites.
The Iran-backed Houthi militia has been involved in a long-running conflict with the Saudi-backed Yemeni government, and fighting has intensified in recent days. The attacks on the oil facilities are likely to escalate tensions between the two sides.
Saudi Maj. Gen. Turki al-Maliki disputed the Houthis' account of the attack, calling it 'misleading'. Meanwhile, the Saudi-led coalition said it launched 97 'precise targeting operations' on the Tor al-Baha front in Yemen, destroying or disabling 44 military vehicles.
