Houthis Expand Shipping Attacks to Northern Red Sea
The Houthi rebels in Yemen have announced plans to expand their attacks on Saudi shipping to the northern Red Sea, a move that could further disrupt global oil supplies.
This expansion comes amid mixed signals about efforts to open up the Strait of Hormuz, which has been largely closed by Iran since February 28th.
The Houthi rebels have already struck Saudi ships in the southern part of the Red Sea and refineries along the northern portion, leading several oil tankers to avoid that route in favor of the Suez Canal.
