India Hikes MSPs for Rabi Crops Amid Season of Increased Demand

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved an increase in the Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for all mandated rabi crops for the marketing season 2027-28.

The MSP of wheat has been raised to Rs 2,610 per quintal from Rs 2,585, a hike of Rs 25. Barley MSP has been increased to Rs 2,286 per quintal from Rs 2,150 in the previous year.

The prices for pulses have also seen an increase, with gram MSP raised by Rs 83 to Rs 5,958 per quintal and masur (lentil) by Rs 390 to Rs 7,390 per quintal.
