Indian Gold Prices Rebound Amid Weakened USD and Investment Demand
Gold prices in India rebounded sharply in August due to increased investment capital and a weakening US dollar, according to Ms. Kavita Chacko, Head of India Research Department at the World Gold Council (WGC).
The domestic gold price rose by 12% in August to 158,854 rupees/10 grams, while international gold prices also surged.
Ms. Chacko attributed the increase to strong investment cash flow and a weakened US dollar.
In September, gold prices adjusted downward by 3.9% internationally and 4.6% domestically, amidst expectations of changes in Fed monetary policy and weakening capital flows into global gold ETFs.
