Indonesia Stands Firm on Subsidized Fuel Prices Through 2026
The Indonesian government has announced that it will maintain subsidized fuel prices until the end of 2026, despite global oil price fluctuations. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia emphasized that the government is committed to keeping prices stable.
Pertalite remains at IDR 10,000 per liter and Biosolar at IDR 6,800 per liter, according to prices effective as of September 23, 2026. The government has confirmed that national fuel stocks are at a level deemed sufficient to meet demand, with supply resilience in the range of 18-20 days.
The country still relies heavily on foreign oil supplies, with domestic production capacity around 600,000 barrels per day, while national fuel demand is approximately 1.6 million barrels per day. The government is working to expand supply sources and diversify oil imports, including potential alternatives from Russia.
