Iraq Seeks 6 Million BPD Production Quota from OPEC
Iraq has formally requested OPEC to increase its production baseline to 6 million barrels per day (bpd), well above its current ceiling of 4.431 million bpd for September and October.
The request is part of an external review of member countries' production capacities, with results expected by the end of September and consideration by oil ministers in November.
Iraq's long-term ambitions are even higher, aiming to reach 5 million bpd after the Iran conflict and approximately 10 million bpd by 2030.
