Italy's Soft Wheat Flour Exports Soar by 15% in First Half of 2026
Italian soft wheat flour exports have been performing strongly on international markets according to recent data from the Italian National Institute of Statistics. In the first half of 2026, Italy exported 202,654 tonnes of soft wheat flour, a nearly 15% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
The growth puts year-end projections on track to reach the 400,000-tonne mark, with the United States taking the lead in export rankings following a record first-half growth of 38%. The US has surpassed France, Germany, and Spain as Italy's top export market for soft wheat flour.
ITALMOPA, the Italian Association of Millers, credits the success to Italy's careful selection of finest wheat, milling excellence, and expertise in meeting premium market requirements abroad. This strategy is expected to drive solid growth for years to come.
