Kazakhstan Oil Industry Drives Tax Revenues and Production Growth

Kazakhstan's oil industry is a significant contributor to the country's tax revenues, accounting for 66.5% of the total in 2025. The energy sector paid around 7.523 trillion tenge, with Tengizchevroil being the largest taxpayer at 3.6 trillion tenge.

The mining industry contributed 2.117 trillion tenge to the tax revenues, while the consumer and financial sectors each accounted for 5.8%, contributing 659 billion and 657 billion tenge, respectively.

Kazakhstan's oil production increased from around 80 million tons in 2011 to approximately 99 million tons in 2025, with Tengiz accounting for a significant portion of the growth.
