Korea Denies Involvement in Alaska LNG Project
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy has clarified its stance on South Korea's potential investment in Alaska's liquefied natural gas (LNG) development project. The ministry stated that while discussions are underway with the U.S., no decision has been made to invest in the project.
A fact sheet released by both countries notes that they have agreed to review the project, subject to commercial rationality and domestic legal requirements. However, U.S. President Donald Trump had previously mentioned South Korea's involvement in the project during a presentation at the Oval Office.
The ministry emphasized that the U.S. was promoting the Alaska LNG project, but no official confirmation has been made regarding South Korea's participation.
