MidOcean Lands $4 Billion to Fuel Global LNG Expansion
MidOcean Energy has successfully closed its equity capital raise, securing over $4 billion in commitments from new and existing investors. This exceeds the company's original target of $2 billion, demonstrating strong demand for its liquefied natural gas (LNG) portfolio. The funds will be used to fuel MidOcean's global LNG push, expanding its footprint across North America, Latin America, and beyond.
The raise attracted a diverse group of investors, including strategic partners, sovereign-linked institutions, and financial investors. This includes the Private Department of Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Idemitsu Kosan, NYK Line, The Arab Energy Fund, Shizuoka Gas, and certain Korean institutional investors.
MidOcean's Chairman, R. Blair Thomas, commented on the progress achieved in this capital raise, stating that it represents a major milestone for the company. He believes LNG will continue to play an essential role in supporting energy security and global economic growth, and that MidOcean is well-positioned to benefit from these long-term market fundamentals.
The company expects the new funds to enhance its balance sheet flexibility and position it to pursue a pipeline of LNG growth opportunities. With a growing portfolio spanning Canada, Australia, the U.S., and Latin America, MidOcean continues to evaluate accretive opportunities consistent with its disciplined investment approach.
