Midstream Growth Soars as Crude Oil Prices Rise Above $80
The outlook for midstream investors is brightening as crude oil prices continue to rise. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) futures are now above $80 per barrel until mid-2027 and remain comfortably above $70 per barrel through June 2028, a significant increase from the start of the year.
This sustained strength across oil futures curves has a direct impact on domestic volume projections. The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) updated its Short-Term Energy Outlook to reflect higher production expectations, with U.S. crude oil production projected to reach 14.2 million barrels per day (MMBpd) in 2027.
Midstream ETFs like AMLP and ENFR are well-positioned to benefit from this growth, as they provide targeted exposure to Master Limited Partnerships (MLPs) and broad exposure to North American energy infrastructure companies, respectively.
