Moroccan Energy Officials Embark on US LNG Infrastructure Delegation
Moroccan energy officials are joining a regional delegation to the United States to explore liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure deals. The US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) is organizing the visit, which includes decision-makers from Egypt, Jordan, and Morocco.
The delegation will spend two weeks in Washington, DC, and Houston, Texas, meeting with senior officials from relevant federal agencies and US LNG infrastructure companies. In Washington, the President’s National Energy Dominance Council will host a US Government Engagement Day at the White House.
Morocco's representation is drawn from several key institutions, including the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development and the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM). The group will also hold a public business briefing in Houston on September 24, where US companies can present their technology solutions.
The visit comes as Morocco is increasing its investments in the gas sector, including LNG imports, pipeline and storage capacity, and new applications for natural gas. USTDA sees this as an opportunity for US firms to supply LNG and related products, services, and technologies.
