Norway's Oil and Gas Production Surpasses Forecasts in August

The Norwegian Offshore Directorate (NOD) has announced preliminary production figures for August 2026. According to the data, Norway's average daily oil and gas production reached 2,073,000 barrels of oil, NGL, and condensate.

Total gas sales in August were 10.6 billion Sm3, which is a slight decrease from the previous month by 0.3 (GSm3). The average daily production of liquids in August was 1,882,000 barrels of oil, 175,000 barrels of NGL, and 17,000 barrels of condensate.

The oil production in August exceeded the NOD's forecast by 4.4 percent and is also 4.6 percent higher than the forecast for this year so far. The total petroleum production for 2026 has reached approximately 163.7 million Sm3 oil equivalents (MSm3 o.e.), with a breakdown of 72.5 MSm3 o.e. of oil, 7.2 MSm3 o.e. of NGL and condensate, and 83.3 MSm3 o.e. of gas for sale.
