Oil Barons Retire Number 16 in Honour of All-Time Scoring Great Travis Gladue

Travis Gladue, a member of Sucker Creek First Nation, was honored by his former team, the Oil Barons, for his outstanding contributions to their success. He played for the team from 1996 to 2001 and helped them win numerous championships during that period.

Gladue's rookie season in 1997 saw him contribute to the team's Alberta Junior Hockey League Title win. He later played a key role on the 1999-2000 squad, which won the AJHL Championship, Doyle Cup, and national Junior A crown. These achievements cemented his legacy as one of the most celebrated players in Fort McMurray hockey history.

Gladue's career statistics still stand as records for the Oil Barons: he tallied 122 goals and 262 points in five seasons. His dedication to representing the team, city, and First Nation with pride helped build a lasting culture of excellence within the organization.
