Pakistan Implements Fuel-Saving Measures Amid Soaring Oil Prices
Pakistan has rolled out new fuel-saving measures to mitigate the impact of soaring oil prices on the country's energy supply and household livelihoods.
The government has directed government departments to cut fuel supplies for official vehicles by 50 percent for three months, while shops, markets, shopping centers, and bazaars will close by 21:00, and restaurants and cafes will shut by 23:00.
The measures come as domestic fuel prices have risen sharply over the past 15 days, with the price of gasoline increasing by about 37 Pakistani rupees (0.13 U.S. dollars) per liter to bring the retail price close to 400 rupees (1.44 U.S. dollars) per liter.
