Poland Stocks Close Lower as Energy Sectors Drag Down Shares

Poland's stock market closed lower on Friday, as losses in key sectors dragged down shares.

The WIG30 index lost 0.59% at the close of trade, with falling stocks outnumbering advancing ones by a margin of 303 to 234.

LPP SA was the best performer among the WIG30 constituents, rising 7.95% or 1,780.00 points to $24,160.00 in late trading.

Energy and oil prices were mixed: crude oil rose by 0.49% or $0.50 to $102.41 a barrel, while Brent oil fell by 0.13% or $0.14 to hit $104.68 a barrel.

The EUR/PLN exchange rate was up 0.23%, while USD/PLN rose 0.30%.
