Qatar Boosts LNG Shipments Through Hormuz Amid Global Shortage

Qatar has significantly increased liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, according to ship-tracking data compiled by Bloomberg. This move indicates that Qatar is becoming more comfortable with moving ships through the waterway, despite ongoing geopolitical tensions in the region.

At least two LNG tankers have been sent outbound through the narrow strait in the last week, while at least two others moved in the opposite direction to enter the Persian Gulf. One of these shipments is en route to India's west coast.

This increased activity comes as global demand for LNG continues to rise, driven by a shortage of supply in various parts of the world. Qatar's efforts to boost LNG production and exports are seen as an attempt to capitalize on this trend.
