The latest Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) report for October 2, 2026, reveals significant positioning extremes across various markets. Commercial COT Index readings are at or near record highs in several assets, including the Australian Dollar and Mexican Peso.
In the Australian Dollar, commercial positioning is at its highest level of the past 26 weeks, while large speculators hold a net short position of -63,239 contracts. This shift comes as the price declined by 0.96%.
