Rupee Plunges to New Low Amid Crude Oil Surge
The Indian rupee continued its downward trend against the US dollar on September 24, 2026, settling at 95.96 (provisional) after a 23 paise drop.
This decline was largely driven by a surge in crude oil prices and a strong greenback amid geopolitical uncertainties.
Aamir Makda, Commodity & Currency Analyst at Commodity Technical Research, Choice Broking, noted that the rupee dropped sharply due to surging Brent crude oil prices and a robust US dollar.
Makda stated that the immediate resistance for the rupee lies at the psychological 96.00 threshold, while the immediate downside support sits around 95.43.
