Saudi Arabia and US Stress Maritime Security in Key Waterways

Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized the importance of safeguarding maritime security in international waterways during a meeting in Washington.

The Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait were highlighted as critical areas for maintaining freedom of navigation, with over 1 billion barrels of oil passing through the former in recent months, according to US Central Command.

Rubio and bin Farhan also discussed strategic relations between their countries, including support for diplomatic efforts to address regional crises and promote security, peace, and stability.
