Saudi Arabia's Defense Ministry announced it intercepted several drones launched from Iraqi territory by Iran-backed armed groups. According to the ministry, the drones targeted petroleum facilities in eastern Saudi Arabia as well as the capital, Riyadh.

The ministry described the attacks as 'terrorist attempts' and called on the Iraqi government to take necessary measures to prevent its territory from being used for such attacks.

Separately, Yemen's Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for drone strikes on Saudi oil infrastructure in retaliation for alleged incursions by Saudi drones.
