Senate Committee Advances Agricultural Act with Year-Round E15 Provision

The US Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry has advanced the Agricultural Act out of committee with a 12-11 vote. The legislation, often referred to as Farm Bill 2.0, includes several key policy priorities for corn growers.

One major provision would allow the year-round sale of gasoline blended with 15% ethanol, commonly known as E15. This change has been advocated by farmers and industry groups, who see it as a way to increase demand for corn-based biofuels.

In response to the vote, Wisconsin Corn Growers Association President Paul Jarvis expressed gratitude towards the committee leaders for moving the legislation forward. However, he also emphasized that there is still work to be done, particularly in securing bipartisan support from the full Senate.
