Serbia Extends Gas Deal with Russia Until End of 2026

Belgrade has extended its natural gas supply agreement with Moscow until the end of 2026, maintaining 'favorable conditions' for Serbia.

The previous deal expired on September 30, and without a new decision, gas supplies would have been in question. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic expressed hope that the agreement could be extended after speaking with Vladimir Putin over the phone.

The market price of natural gas is around 868 euros per 1,000 cubic meters, while Serbia pays only 318 euros under the current deal. The head of state-owned gas company 'Srbijagas', Dušan Bayatović, confirmed that the new agreement will be valid until December 31st.
