Silver Price Surges by 1.68% on Weak Dollar and Falling Oil Prices

The price of silver in India has increased by 1.68% on September 18th, 2026. The current price for one gram of silver is ₹242, while ten grams costs ₹2,416 and one kilogram is priced at ₹241,640. This increase is largely due to a weak US dollar and falling crude oil prices.

The weakening dollar has made dollar-priced commodities more expensive for other currency holders, leading to an increase in demand for silver. Additionally, the retreat of crude oil prices from recent highs as supply disruptions in the Middle East eased has also contributed to the rise in silver prices.

Treasury yields have also pulled back from multi-year highs, with US Treasury yields falling to nearly 4.93% after briefly exceeding 5%. This decline in interest rates has increased the appeal of safe-haven assets like silver, further contributing to its price increase.
