Syria and Azerbaijan Form Business Council to Boost Bilateral Trade
The Syrian government has taken steps to expand its economic ties with Azerbaijan, a move that could unlock new trade and investment opportunities for both countries.
A high-level delegation led by Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal al-Shaar visited Baku in September, where they discussed the establishment of a joint business council and other initiatives aimed at boosting bilateral trade and investment.
Economic advisor Osama al-Qadi emphasized that energy cooperation between Syria and Azerbaijan is a key area of focus, with Azerbaijani natural gas being supplied to Syria via Turkish transit infrastructure.
The Syrian-Azerbaijani Business Council will play a crucial role in facilitating trade and investment between the two countries, including through joint commercial expos and trade exhibitions. Al-Qadi also highlighted potential growth areas in construction, heavy manufacturing, agriculture, and agro-industrial processing.
