Tantita Security Services Leads Battle Against Oil Theft in Nigeria

Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) has been instrumental in reducing oil theft by 79% in recent years, according to industry statistics. The company's pipeline surveillance contract with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has been crucial in achieving this feat.

The statistics show that crude and condensate production reached 1.67 million barrels per day in August 2026, meeting Nigeria's OPEC quota for a fourth straight month. This is significant because oil accounts for more than 75% of Nigeria's foreign exchange earnings.

Tantita employs over 136,000 people directly and indirectly benefits around 300,000 more in the pipeline-related work. The company uses advanced technology to monitor export pipelines, trace illegal connections, identify crude-theft points, and report suspected illegal refining activity to security agencies for enforcement.
