Tourmaline Sells Stake in Topaz Energy Amid Undervalued Stock Concerns

Tourmaline Oil is selling 50% of its holdings in Topaz Energy and raising its quarterly dividend by 5%. This move, according to Jamie Murray, president of The Murray Wealth Group, is a response to Tourmaline's undervalued stock price. Natural gas prices have been a major concern for the company, particularly in Canada.

Murray believes that if natural gas prices improve, Tourmaline's shares could increase significantly. He also notes that the company has diversified its operations and has LNG contracts, which should help alleviate some of the pressure on natural gas prices.

In addition to Tourmaline, Murray discussed Costco's upcoming earnings report and the potential impact of consumer spending on retail stocks. He emphasized that membership growth and comments on consumer spending may offer more insight into a retailer's earnings than sales figures already reported.
