Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line (Transco) has expanded its Texas operations to meet growing demand for natural gas in Houston and power generation. Two new expansions, totaling 285,000 Dth/d, will come online on November 1. One of the projects will transport Louisiana natural gas west into Houston for CenterPoint Energy, with a capacity of 115,000 Dth/d.

The other expansion will serve Vistra's coal plant, which is converting to natural gas. This move marks a shift towards cleaner energy sources in the region. Transco Zone 3 is expected to hold a premium over Zone 2 due to its increased capacity and demand for gas in the area.
