Tribal Farmers Reap Benefits from Corn Cultivation for Ethanol Production

Gujarat's tribal farmers are seeing significant benefits from cultivating corn for ethanol production. The state has seen a substantial increase in corn cultivation, with an area of 2.71 lakh hectares being planted during the current season, which is 95.85% of the total area under cultivation.

The use of corn for ethanol production will have a positive impact on tribal farmers, as it is expected to fetch them higher returns than traditional crops. Corn can be used to produce ethanol, which is a major component of petrol in India's e-20 blend.

Maharashtra has the largest area under corn cultivation, followed by Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
