Trump Rejects Iran's Strait of Hormuz Proposal Amid Nuclear Talks

US President Donald Trump has rejected Iran's proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. According to reports, Iran offered to resume talks on its nuclear program in seven days if the US lifts its naval blockade of Iranian ports and waives sanctions on Iranian oil sales.

The proposal also included a ceasefire that would include Lebanon. However, Trump rejected the offer stating that 'Iran wanted to make a deal because it was losing so badly.'

In February, Iran effectively closed the Strait after the US and Israel attacked the Islamic Republic, leading to a significant drop in the number of ships passing through due to Iranian threats and attacks on vessels.
