U.S. Ethanol Producers Consume Record 475 Million Bushels of Corn in July

U.S. fuel ethanol producers consumed an estimated 475 million bushels of corn in July, up 4% from the same period last year, according to data released by the USDA's September Grain Crushings and Co-Products Production report.

Total corn consumption for alcohol and other uses stood at 528 million bushels during the month, an increase of 2% from June and 4% from July 2025. Fuel ethanol production accounted for the bulk of corn used, with dry mills consuming 92.6% of the corn and wet mills accounting for the remaining 7.4%.

Dry mills saw a decline in condensed distillers solubles production to 120,797 tons in July, down 7% from June and 3% from a year earlier. However, corn oil production increased to 221,731 tons, rising 4% month-on-month and 6% year-on-year.
