Ukraine Corn Export Prices Slump Amid Global Market Volatility

The recent drop in oil prices by 15-18% on April 8 led to speculation about the end of the war in the Middle East, causing a decline in corn futures and export prices in Ukraine.

May corn futures in Chicago fell by 1.3% to $175/ton on April 8, while June corn futures on the Paris exchange dropped by 1.7% to €205.5/ton or $240/ton.

The European Union's import forecast for MY 2025/26 is 19.5 million tons of corn, but only 9 million tons were imported during the same period, with 40% coming from Brazil and 30% from the USA.
