US-Iran Conflict Drives Up Oil Prices and Regional Tensions
The ongoing US-Iran conflict continues to reshape the security and energy landscape across the Middle East. The war has caused significant disruption to oil supplies, with Saudi Arabia facing growing pressure on its key export routes.
US President Donald Trump said the war would end soon and reiterated that Iran would not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons. He also stated that domestic gasoline prices would fall back to previous levels, or even lower, once the conflict ends.
The reported US military death toll in the conflict has become a point of dispute, with six officials citing internal Pentagon casualty data suggesting at least 22 US service members had been killed, four more than publicly disclosed by the Department of Defense. However, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth denied this report, calling it 'a complete LIE.'
Saudi Arabia's security concerns have also drawn attention to its defense ties with Pakistan. The country has signed a Mutual Strategic Defense Agreement with Saudi Arabia and is committed to defending it against any attacks.
