US LNG Shipments Decline Amid Rising Shipping Rates
The US liquefied natural gas (LNG) market saw some changes in recent weeks. According to the Energy Information Administration, US LNG plants sent 33 cargoes during the week ending September 23, down three shipments from the previous week.
This decline comes as the Atlantic spot LNG shipping rates rose for the fourth week in a row, reaching almost $30,000 per day, according to Spark Commodities. This is an increase of $4,750 from the previous week's rate of $25,250 per day.
US LNG exports also saw a notable destination in July - Egypt was the top destination for US LNG shipments during that month, although no specific figures were provided.
