US Stocks Rebound as Oil Prices Fall and Bond Market Pressure Eases
US stocks are rebounding Thursday after falling oil prices and easing pressure from the bond market helped Wall Street recover most of its losses for the week.
The S&P 500 climbed 1.1%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 346 points, or 0.7%, with an hour remaining in trading, and the Nasdaq composite was up 1.6%.
Oil prices fell after concerns over a war with Iran began to ease, with Brent crude oil dropping 1% to $104.82 per barrel, down from nearly $110 earlier this week.
The yield on the 10-year Treasury fell to 4.94% from 5.01% late Wednesday, which helped remove some pressure on stocks and boosted confidence in the Federal Reserve's commitment to getting inflation back under control.
