The US stock market is recovering from its losses this week, thanks to falling oil prices and easing pressure from the bond market. The S&P 500 climbed 1.1% on Thursday, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.7%. The Nasdaq composite was up 1.6%.

The Australian sharemarket is also expected to rise, with futures pointing to a gain of 57 points or 0.7% at the open. The ASX added 0.4% on Thursday.

Brent crude oil prices fell 1% to $104.79 per barrel, down from nearly $110 earlier in the week due to concerns about the Iran war and its impact on global oil supplies.
